Self Portrait a Day Project

Day 1 (1 of 2) Home After deciding to do a self portrait a day, I thought it might be nice to get a shot with my girls. They thought this was a GREAT idea! LOL! Both took turns pressing the button for me. The center photo actually *is* taken by me.

Day 1 (2 of 2) Home Chris sent me these flowers for my birthday. They were lovely! I just loved how spring-y they are. Gorgeous! (I took a second shot and ended up liking it so I included it.) More about this project I saw that another woman on DGrin was doing this and just fell in love with Kate Crafton. She has some amazing creativity! Definitely check out her photos! Another great place to check out is the SmugMug Dailies! I go there...well... daily! LOL!

Day 2 Home I was quite exhausted this day and sat in my comfy clothes and drank coffee watching the girls play.

Day 3 Downtown Crested Butte I went out to try to buy a new mountain bike with the gift certificate I got from my family for my birthday, but the store was closed. I ended up riding my bike around, getting some tea and taking photos. This is at the west end of Elk Avenue in Crested Butte.

Day 4 Home Not too long ago, I decided to go vegan. I wanted to represent this somehow, but not sure if this is it... I find this photo interesting, but not necessarily something I would do again. (All editing was done in Lightroom.) I've also decided that while doing these photos, I want to push my normal "style" and find new things to do. Things that I normally wouldn't.

Day 5 Almont "Red" After chatting with my friend Karen, she suggested that I find a "theme" to go with to give me ideas for the photos. My first "theme" is the rainbow - ROYGBIV. But I have to say, I'm a bit surprised that I haven't really needed that so if I find I'm not following the colors by doing something clever with them, I may wait to do it... Anyway, here's "red". I've always been intrigued by the red willows along the side of the road. They are incredibly hard to photograph because it's pretty subtle, but in real life you can see it. I'm not sure if you can see me in this photo as I'm hiding. Good luck finding me! :)

Day 6 (1 of 2) Home "Orange" Orange you glad there aren't TWO of me? YIKES! A bit cheesy, but it's got some orange!

Day 6 (2 of 2) Home I have been REALLY unhappy with the way my skin looks in the photos so I set out to take a photo I liked. But still couldn't take a good one... Nothing I did changed much about it and I didn't want to Photoshop every single photo. After playing with Lightroom, i made some small adjustments and voila! I like it!! Comments? I'd love to hear! Oh, and I just didn't like the previous photo from a personal standpoint so I did another. :)

Day 7 Home "Yellow" I am sick of seeing my face! LOL! So it's time to see my hands. My girls LOVE bananas! After I did this photo, Ellie saw the bananas and promptly ate two of them! She claims she'll share with Sammie, but we'll see.

Day 8 (1 of 2) Ginger Cafe "Blue" Why, you ask, "blue"? What happened to "green" and ROY G. BIV? Well, I've made the executive decision to leave green until Saint Patty's day! They're my portraits... I think I can do that. Can't I? And yes, that's a glass of wine. I had it for lunch. Bad, I know, but I was just in the mood. Can't remember the last time I did it... Bad, bad Andi. It was good, good, though!

Day 8 (2 of 2) Butte & 8th Yup, another day with two photos. I honestly thought this would be hard, but I keep coming up with fun ideas! I like this photo because you can see how even the huge mud puddles can be gorgeous. (See that reflection?) I was inspired to do this one after riding around on my townie for a while (post office, lunch, etc.) and realized not only how amazed I am each time I get out on a day like today, but how amazing period it is here. This doesn't even come close to capturing the beauty, but you can hopefully tell how entralled I am with it!

Day 9 Home "Indigo" Last night was a tough night - very tired. Sammie woke several times and I have no clue why. She did the night before, too, but I had to bring her into my bed last night when she woke 3 or 4 times within an hour. (And she woke about 3 more after that. I rubbed her back and she fell back to sleep.) This is, of course, indigo as a reference to the jeans. For some reason, I really like this shot. Shows how I feel today....

Day 10 Home "Green" Happy St Patty's day! Yup, green beer! Had to do it.... It kicked off a long, fun time on the porch - once again! LOL!

Day 11 Neighbor's car "Violet" You can sort of see my reflection. Yeah, the color may be off, but I needed to do violet. LOL!

Day 12 My car - Almont Well, my color theme is done... I'm thinking I'll do a new theme next week. No clue what yet! This is me taking a little nap between CB and Gunnison doing a grocery run. (Don't worry, all was safe - my camera was on a tripod and my left eye was open. Did I just spoil it for you?)

Day 13 (1 of 2) Home My mother, Sammie, Ellie and I were putting our hands down on the table so that I could get a shot of all of our hands... and Sammie did this. I just thought it was too cute!

Day 13 (2 of 2) Home Here are my mom (lower right), me, Sammie (top) and Ellie (right). You can sort of tell that my mom and my mom's hands are almost identical! As a matter of fact, one time she was commenting on what pretty hands I had when I pointed that fact out. She was surprised! I just thought this would be a fun shot....

Day 14 Home SNOW! This winter has been SO crazy warm. *sigh* Let's hear it for global warming! Anyway, it started to snow so I grabbed my coffee and headed upstairs for a few minutes of time alone. Okay, 30 seconds.

Day 15 (1 of 2) Home Sammie just kills me sometimes! She insists on wearing hats or jackets or shoes or mittens even when there is no chance of going outside!

Day 15 (2 of 2) Home We bought a bunch of storm windows to put up and they were stacked on our porch. I suddenly realized it might be an interesting mirror photo. I liked the effect. Now they need to go into the garage. I'm done with them.

Day 16 (1 of 2) Salida Mom went home today and the girls and I met up with my dad to hand her off.... It's been a true godsend having her here this week. I don't know how I could have made it with Chris gone this long. I miss him. We spent about 45 minutes at the park after mom and dad headed home playing. The girls still managed to keep me company the whole way home! (An hour and fourty five minutes!)

Day 16 (2 of 2) Home I was having a LOT of problems getting the previous photo to look the way I wanted so I took this one. Then I liked both. The end.
