Day 85
Gothic Road

Out scouting out pictures for the new contest - curvy or angular. Can you see the curvy river down there?

I also thought I'd introduce the "beastmaster". That's our '87 Landcruiser - it rocks! (And that's me in the mirror, just in case you can't see.)

I love Lightroom! I love bumping the color like this - it's so fun!

This amazing piece of jewelry is hand tied rubies on a gold chain. My husband bought the "ruby rope" for me about 3 or 4 years ago and it still blows me away. It's simply stunning! I just wish I had more opportunities to wear it here in Crested Butte. Thank you, Chris!

It's not spring here yet. Not even close. I still can't get over how much snow we have left on the ground! It's just amazing compared to last year - or any other year of my life. For a comparison, this is our backyard last year shortly before we finished out deck. yes, that's about 7' of snow still piled up! (More in some places.)

Happy Easter! (After seeing Chris off to Louisville, KY, the girls and I played in the yard. You know, your typical Easter. LOL! )

Dying Easter Eggs.... I took a bunch of photos, but wasn't in the mood and the photos showed it. This was the best of the bunch - I wanted one with the girls and Chris, but ah, well!!! We had a good time doing it, though. We even made sparkling eggs! Messy, but pretty.

You can tell when it was cold the night before... in the morning, the trees have grown a layer of "fuzz". The frost covers the trees and gives them a soft, fuzzy appearance that is otherworldly. Glinting and reflecting in the sun, they are gorgeous!

As you can see, I'll be adding notes when I feel like it...
I have actually tried to capture this type of photo many, many times and I'm still not satisfied with it. If we have another close to zero night, I'll probably be attempting this again. It truly is beautiful and very odd to see.
Today I signed Ellie up for kindergarten. At the risk of sounding like every other mother, it was an odd experience that's really made me realize just how quickly the last 4.5+ years have gone. Wow!
