This is what makes Crested Butte so wonderful - the people. As I brought my girls out to lunch (as we do on a Tuesday or Thursday each week), we ran into some friends who have kids that go to school with my girls. Although it was way after 12:00, we ended up chatting for about 20 minutes while the kids played in the snow and on the fence. I love how casual and open and friendly this town is!

For me, the afternoon hazy light after a snow storm (or during the snow, as you can see when you look at the buildings) is just gorgeous.

I wish I'd had my camera ready 2 minutes earlier- you can see a horse drawn carriage on the lower right on the street. We've done that once and it was so wonderful and fun! I highly recommend a ride and tour around town in that manner.
