Photos of Grocery Shopping in Crested Butte
Even a trip to the grocery store is a little different than normal. Jumping on your townie to head across town for those few things you ran out of is quite cool - until you end up buying too many things to carry home comfortably!
My bike (and the guest bike, blue behind mine) just waiting to get ridden! (The orange blanket in mine is to protect the camera while I'm riding.)
Headed down the road toward the park. you can see the volleyball court, baseball field and to the left of the grey building is the park. 1.5 blocks from my house.
The grey building from the previous photo is the Arts Center on the right of this photo. You can see the grocery store on the left on the other side of the street. Red Lady mountain is in the middle of the photo - this is where some people want to put a mine. No thanks!
A quick detour to take a shot of Mt. Crested Butte, about 2 blocks from the previous shot. You can see it's definitely fall! The snow is starting to creep down the mountains.
Parked at the grocery store. My bike is in the middle of the rack on this side. Some people bring their trailers to carry lots of groceries (as I've done before). You can also see the dog tied up on the left in the shade - not unusual, although illegal! LOL!
I bought too many groceries. And then got the mail and got a package. Much fuller load than normal! (You can see the package behind my seat - I had to double up on the handlebars to get everything home!)
Leaving the parking lot. Ugly, eh? Heh.
Everyone rides bikes here! The dad actually had a child on his handlebars. Scares me to death, but it's pretty common! (It's a special seat for a small child on the inside of the handlebars.)
