Photos of a Snowy Walk in Crested Butte
One afternoon, I decided to take my girls for a walk and drag my camera with me. This was a typical day during the late winter.
Starting off on the walk... Taking the dog with us, but we brought him back. He's a bit of a pain to take downtown! (This is in front of our neighbor's house.)
Sammie is all bundled up. Her little hands are SO cute in those little mittens! She gets her thumbs right in and can grab stuff really easily, which surprised me. (Ellie had a harder time at this age with mittens.)
After lunch, we went back to the post office because they were selling Mardi Gras beads. I should have gotten Sammie some, but wasn't sure about her chewing on them. But Ellie LOVED her balloon beads!
Scraping snow off the roof after riding his bike to "work". Note the girl in short sleeves just standing out there having a leisurely conversation! (It was actually pretty warm.) The roofs need to be scraped periodically because of the snow not sheeting off. It can cause a hazard below as well as get too heavy for the roof to hold!
Out for a nice little bike ride! Everyone rides "townies" around even in the snow. It's an incredibly easy way to get around. This lady has a bunch of stuff not only in her back baskets, but also in the one on the front!
Zzzzzzz. Sammie was ready to take a nap, but since we weren't home, she passed out in the stroller! She's very comfy there and with the day being so warm, she was pretty toasty! (Although I did put the blanket on her just in case.)
"Warrior" sculpture in front of town hall. There are so many artists here - it's amazing looking at all the different types of art around the town!
Snow storage is the big "issue" during the winter. Where do you put all that snow? The vacant lots by us get piled high with it! You can see two of those piles by Ellie. This is actually about a block away from us. The streets are wide-looking because the cars park on the "sidewalk". That allows the plows to get through, if needed.
Standing on the cross country ski path checking out Mt Crested Butte. This is where I go when I head out to ski. It's about 2 blocks from home.
The ubiquitous townie leaning against the snow on someone front stoop.
